In this fourth of a set of four video clips, Kim Stephens (Program Coordinator, Water Sustainability Action Plan for British Columbia), describes why the Water Balance Model has been integrated with the QUALHYMO hydrologic engine to apply performance targets at a watershed scale and thereby support informed decision-making related to rainwater management and green infrastructure in British Columbia. Performance targets provided the focus for the third and final seminar in the Cowichan Valley Learning Lunch Seminar Series. The Cowichan Valley Regional District and City of Courtenay have seized the opportunity to show provincial leadership in co-sponsoring the Learning Lunch Seminar Series. This is a pilot program on Vancouver Island to build local government capacity. The desired outcome is that the Series will facilitate inter-department alignment and a consistent regional approach to rainwater management and green infrastructure. The Learning Lunch Seminar Series is being implemented as part of the Convening for Action on Vancouver Island (CAVI) program. For more information about CAVI, check out www.conveningforaction.ca on the WaterBucket Website. [More] [Less]
